The bigger they come the harder they fall!!! These large oaks on Ma Colegrove's farm fell after a severe storm in the spring of 2011. Can you tell the type of oak tree these are by the bark?
First, I didn't hear any audio, so I couldn't identify it by its bark! Sorry, I was chanelling Steve there. I consulted the tree guide and thought it could be a Bur Oak. The Bur's bark is light gray, thick, rough and deeply furrowed into scaley ridges.
I believe its a white oak, but I am not for sure. It could be a black oak, but the bark is usually a little darker.
