Steps to Test Water Quality

1.  Water to be tested can either be tested directly (best if possible) in the stream, lake or pond etc. or samples can be taken in a container to be tested.

2.  Use Labquest and probes to obtain readings for the temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, and turbidity.  Probes are calibrated using standard procedures (given with lab)  and cleaned with distilled water before and after testing to ensure accurate readings thus good results.

3.  An overall quality score for the water sample is determined by placing test results in charts and tables.  Spreadsheets that perform calculations for you make the job much easier.

Note:  insert pics of procedures and a link to the water quality testing lab,  and results from out test of 4 pole creek at Ritter Park.
